50 years JRGUMAT

The unusal story of how the mixing valve JRGUMAT was created, has become a successful brand and triggered yet another success story which revolutionized installation technology.

It was during a private stay in the States in April 1959 when I hit upon the idea that there might be a demand for mixing valves with pre-set temperatures not only in the USA but also in Switzerland.

In Sissach, where the company headquarters and production facilities are located, the former showrooms and training centre covering 800m2 have been rebuilt and redesigned. The facilities are divided into a 200m² exhibition area, which is designed to point to building technology issues, and a hands-on training centre of 600m², where, in realistic scenarios, the handling and use of the products are demonstrated.

We are expecting more than 3,500 installers, planners, architects and investors this year, who want to get informed about the quality of products and production processes.

Sampling valve

In power plants, in the food and beverage industries as well as with hotel and catering businesses water sampling points are crucial to test the hygienic impeccability of the no. 1 foodstuff. The functional GF JRG sampling valve made of stainless steel and gunmetal is perfectly suitable for taking  predefined samples at various points. The valve is suitable for flame treatment, i.e. the outlet  can be heated up for a short period to secure a  germfree tapping. The sampling valve can be smoothly installed and used thanks to the threaded connections for purging valves of the cavity-free GF JRG series. The sampling valve  can be rotated through 360 degrees.

Experience building services

Hands-on building services: The showroom of Georg Fischer JRG AG shows modern building services and conveys know-how for planners, plumbers and architects.

They go into walls and ceilings and no-one sees them. But their quality – particular with regards to planning and installation – has an influence on the well-being of the user of the building, which is not to be underestimated. In order to make this clear to planners, plumbers and architects, Georg Fisher JRG has set up a new showroom at the company’s office and production site in Sissach.  The showroom conveys highly-valuable building services know-how and provides the approx. 3,500 visitors each year with an overall quality understanding for installations: fittings and installations without dead space, effective noise insulation, reliable anti-scaling protection and long-term effective protection against micro-organisms.  All of these are important questions both for the well-being and comfort of the inhabitant, as well as their health – and, last but not least, for the long-term life-span of the installations, i.e. for long-term cheap maintenance and repair costs.
