1887

A foundry and workshop is established by the red brass founder Jakob Mangold on the property 85 Hauptstrasse in Sissach.

1899

J.R Gunzenhauser (1873-1958) purchases a small manufacturing company.

1918

First serial production of valves.

1938

J.R. Gunzenhauser passes the company on to his sons Hans and Rudolf. Foundation of  J+R Gunzenhauser Valve Works and Metal Foundry as general partnership.

1943

The third brother Ernst Gunzenhauser joins the company.

1946

Metal foundry. Erection of an office building and a shed for machining and assembly next to the old factory.

1952

Transformation of the general partnership into a family-owned joint-stock company.

1956

Erection of a casting house with mechanized sand processing.

1962

New administrative building with commercial and technical offices as well as dispatch department, storage rooms for finished parts and training classrooms. Opening of the distributing warehouse in Lugano.

1971

The third generation joins the family business.

1973

Erection of new production sheds and warehouses.

1978

Introduction of the pipe-in-pipe installation system JRG Sanipex classic.

1984

Commissioning of the JRG Information Centre for product training.

1992

Erection of a distribution centre with computer-controlled high-rise storage, picking location and office block. CAD/CAM network integration of the administration. Staff of approximately 300.

1994

Erection of the sales branch Southern Germany (Neuburg on the River Danube, Northern Germany in Dortmund). Turnover of CHF 100m is exceeded.

1998

"111 years of man and technology"; Open Day on the occasion of the ISO 9001 certification. Turnover exceeds CHF 105m limit for the first time. Staff of approximately 350.

2000

The Lugano branch is relocated to its new building with training classroom and distributing warehouse in Viganello. New company name:  JRG Gunzenhauser AG, new company logo, new advertising presence.

2001

Johann Rudolf Gunzenhauser assumes overall responsibility for the company as chairman of the board. Expansion and commissioning of the new information and communication centre on the top floor of the administrative building.

2002

After a development period of several years, JRG Sanipex MT, a novelty all-plastic installation system is launched. A new age of installation technology starts. Staff of 400. JRG is granted the award for innovation "Innovationspreis beider Basel"  for JRG Sanipex MT for the second time.

2005

JRG launches the new line drinking water treatment with its chalk treatment devices JRG Coral force.

2006

With JRG LegioStop JRG introduces a new generation of hygienic plumbing valves featuring a smoothly-running upper part without any death traps (no water pockets).

2008

JRG shareholders have voted for merging JRG with Georg Fischer Group in order to strengthen the JRG brand and to secure its home Sissach a successful and sustainable future in a globalized business world.

2009

The Georg Fischer JRG Training Center providing full facilities for training on the complete range of GF and JRG building equipment is opened in a former production plant dating from the 1930s. 3,500 visitors per year can thus be convinced of the advantages of both systems and get hands-on experience thanks to a variety of show-room installations.

2010

Mit den Synergien der verschiedenen Rohrleitungssysteme von Georg Fischer JRG ist jetzt die Systemüberbrückung zwischen iFIT und Sanipex problemlos möglich. Dazu wurden auf der Basis von den bewährten JRG Armaturen neue Komponenten entwickelt, welche nun mit der iFIT Steckkontur versehen sind. Z.B. Armaturenanschluss mit Gehäuse einfach, Armaturenanschluss mit Gehäuse doppelt, Verteiler 2/3/4-fach, Absperrventil LegioStop und

Unterputz Absperrventil LegioStop.
